Kia ora koutou,
We just wanted to write a quick post to let everyone know how the study is progressing and what to expect as you finish the first part of the study and move into the second part.
First, and most importantly – thank you. We genuinely appreciate each and every one of you and so value the time and effort you are putting into the study. We literally could not do this without you, and we are so thankful that you are choosing to help us in our research.
Wave 1 started with the health and wellbeing surveys and then involved recording some recent event memories or your current mood on alternate weeks.
Wave 2 will also start with some health and wellbeing surveys. Some will be the same as in Wave 1, and there will also be some new ones to try out. Wave 2 of the study only has one day of health and wellbeing surveys, so there are fewer surveys for you to complete than at the very beginning of the study.
The study tasks will also be a little different. You will still record memories and mood on alternate weeks, but the memory tasks will be a little different. In this phase of the study, you will be asked some different questions about the memories you record, getting you to reflect on them a little bit differently than in Wave 1.
If you haven’t noticed a change, or the tasks seem the same as before, that’s ok. You probably aren’t quite finished Wave 1 yet. Whenever you do finish Wave 1, that’s when we’ll check if each person has completed 80% or more of the Wave 1 tasks, as this is what makes you eligible for the thank-you gift. If you are eligible, we will contact you with the information about the gift via email, so keep an eye out for an email from us and check your junk folders, too, so it doesn’t get missed.
We have also updated the FAQ section of the website, to provide the answers to the most commonly asked questions. It was so great to receive these interesting questions from our participants and all the insightful, thoughtful comments you shared. So, if you have a question about the study, do check out this updated section and see if it is addressed there. If not, you can always use the contact form to get in touch with us at any time.
Once again, thank you so much for all that you are contributing to this study, we so appreciate it.
Ngā mihi nui,
Matt, Claire, and Paul
